Artist Research: Steve Bell

Steve Bell

Steve Bell is an English political cartoonist.

Bell is known for his reoccurring illustrations on The Guardian where his creations would continuously display his left side political views.

Bell is also known for his small animated cartoons illustrating the 20th anniversary of Margaret Thatcher’s rise to power,  which was included on a Channel 4 series entitled “Margaret Thatcher: Where am I now?”

I am particularly fond of Bell’s work as I find it rather humorous due to its comical approach to politics.

I feel that Bell’s aim is to perhaps engage people who would not generally consider looking at the development of politics. His use of humour within his work adds another perspective to the views that we have in today’s society. It is for this reason that I would consider looking at him in the future.
